What inspired you to join the Chamber of Commerce Committee?
Initially I joined the Cooroy Chamber because I wanted to meet more people in the community I had just bought a business in. I enjoyed surrounding myself with likeminded business people. When asked to join the committee I thought it was a great opportunity to give back to the community that had embraced us so well and supported our transition into business. Accepting the role as President of the chamber was inspired by a belief that a strong and healthy business community leads to a strong and healthy wider community. The chamber is a fabulous platform to have a positive impact on our entire community.
What do you love most about being part of the Cooroy business community?
The collaborative, supportive and genuine relationships that are built. I have gained dear friends over the years who I’ve initially met through the Cooroy business community.
What’s one initiative or event you’re most proud to be part of?
As chair of the committee and project manager for three years of Christmas In Cooroy (2022–2024), I’m most proud of how this event has grown. Adjusting the format to focus more on our local businesses, bringing back the float parade, adding sideshow alley and seeing so much joy in our community at each event is incredibly rewarding.
